Plant-Based Reuben Sandwich

Do you miss your Reuben Sandwich?

I don’t, because I have my Plant-Based Reuben Sandwich!

Check out these ingredients, you probably have most of them in your pantry. Check out our fun post on INSTA to see how we put it together. Our Jalapeño Bacon is preferred but any Parma! flavor will work — see how you feel and shake it on to your liking.


1. Jalapeno Bacon Parma! (or Parma! of choice)
2. Rye bread
3. Tempeh
4. Tamari or soy sauce or aminos to cover tempeh
5. Kraut or steamed cabbage
6. Vegan swiss (optional)
7. Thousand Island dressing ready made OR to make your own Thousand Island:
8. 1 cup vegan mayonnaise
9. 1/3 cup ketchup
10. 1/2 teaspoon onion powder, optional
11. 3 tablespoons sweet pickle relish, optional

Put dressing ingredients into a bowl and combine until smooth and creamy


-> Slice your tempeh in half and into bread size or smaller pieces. Soak in Tamari/soy sauce/ aminos for at least 15 minutes, it can be overnight. Then pan fry them a bit to heat them up and to make them a bit crispy on the edges.

-> Toast your bread, when half way toasted, top with your cheese to melt it a bit.

-> Prepare your thousand island dressing

-> Build your sandwich! — put your toast on a plate, add tempeh, kraut or steamed cabbage,  Thousand Island dressing and top with Parma!. Put your other piece of toast on top, slice in half and enjoy!
